About Programme
The importance attached to the concept of health and disease is growing all around the world and in Turkey. There have been important advances in the health sector serving to these concepts lately. With the economic development of our country, the significance attributed to the health sector is also improving. According to the official statement published by the Ministry of Health, home-care service for those people with constant diseases, who need to stay at hospital permanently, started. Within the scope of this service, home-care services will be provided to those people who have a permanent disease and need medical care. With the development of living conditions, people are expecting to get better health services. In this respect, the number of domestic and foreign investments in health sector is also increasing. The biggest indicator of this case is the increase in the number of private hospitals and polyclinics. However, the number of health staff to work in these health institutions and home-care services are not increasing with the same pace. So, the health programmes under vocational health schools play an important role in meeting this demand. * In this program, the training is provided by the second instruction.
Goal
The aim of the programme is to educate health technicians who; Have the required skills and knowledge in geriatrics at national and international level, Know the requirements and characteristics of elderly people, Attach importance to occupational ethics, Provide high-quality care, Have a sense of social responsibility, Believe in the importance of team work.
Target
Through educational programmes prepared according to national and international occupational criteria, our objective is to graduate students equipped with high-level of knowledge and skills in line with scientific, technologic and modern values; and to be among the leading educational institutions in educating health technicians in our country.
Admisson
Higher Education Council in accordance with relevant legislation, is determined by OSYM.
Graduation Requirements
Students who successfully complete all compulsory courses specified in the course plan and the minimum number of elective courses required; complete 120 ECTS credits and have a minimum CGPA of 2.00/ 4.00 will graduate
Degree To Earn
Students who successfully complete the programme receive an "Associate's Degree" and are entitled to receive a “technician” title.
Transition To Top Level
Upon successful completion of the programme students who are successful in External Transfer Exam could continue their education in the following undergraduate programmes • Physiotherapy and rehabilitation • Nursing • Nutrition and Dietetics
Employment Opportunities
Graduates can work under the supervision of an expert in the following institutions; • Private, foundation and government nursing home for elderly and nursing houses under the Directorate of Social Services where elderly care services are provided, - In Prime Ministry Family Research Institution, State Planning Organization and Family Counseling Centers, - Municipal Nursing homes and nursing homes - Geriatrics Hospitals or the Geriatrics Services and polyclinics of hospitals - Nursing houses for elderly operating under NGOs and private institutions, - Nursing houses for elderly, houses for the weak people, and daytime centers for elderly - In services for home care for elderly under units of the Directorates of Health - UNICEF, ILO and Voluntary Agencies - Private institutions offering such services as organizing the home of the elderly and protected houses.

Grade Requirements and Rules
Fulfilling all the requirements of the program and with the successful completion of the summer internship students completing 4 of 30 working days At the end of the period 'Elderly Care Technician Associate Degree Diploma'' is awarded.
